Seattle is a city full of incredible craft breweries and tasting rooms – with some great family-friendly bars included. My husband and I have always loved visiting breweries on the weekend before kids. Needless to say, we were disappointed to think our brewery days were over with the birth of our son. However, I was happy to find that there were tons of kid-friendly breweries in Seattle.

After all, having kids shouldn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a few beers at Seattle’s breweries. I was having trouble finding an updated list of family-friendly breweries in Seattle, so I decided to create my own.

Whether they have entertainment for your kids, space for running around, family deals, or just a laid back atmosphere, there are plenty of breweries for all ages to enjoy. Let’s not forget the delicious Seattle food available at these places too!

Here are some of the best downtown Seattle brewpubs and craft breweries around the city. If you are looking for a family day out that still allows you to enjoy a few beers, you’ll want to visit some of these places.

Optimism Brewery Seattle is located on Capitol Hill. There are always some tasty food trucks on-site too, as well as a restaurant nearby that can deliver straight to the beer hall.

Optimism Brewery may make some fantastic beers, but they also have excellent facilities to offer for the kids. This brewery has its own enclosed kids play area – full of toys and things to keep the little ones busy.

You can relax over a cold beer, knowing that your little ones are happily entertaining themselves. After all, a happy kid means happy parents, right?

The space is large, so it makes for a good indoor activity in Seattle when it rains.

2. Peddler Brewery Company

Peddler Brewery Company in Ballard offers the perfect setting for a family day out. This is one of my favorite kid-friendly breweries in Seattle due to its sizeable beer garden the family can relax in. There is loads of space for kids to run around here, where they can also play a game of corn hole.

In terms of food, Peddler Brewing is next door to the well-loved Mean Sandwich, where you can get some food to go. During weekends and in the evenings, food trucks pull into the brewery to offer even more.

3. Fremont Brewing

Fremont Brewing is always a good choice for families. Of all the breweries in Fremont, this place is one of the most popular options for anyone with kids. This is largely thanks to the spacious areas for kids to run around in.

If you visit during a sunny summer day, the outdoor patio is ideal for a picnic. However, there are indoor and outdoor areas, so you can safely visit here no matter what the weather is doing (I’m looking at you, Seattle rain).

Kids can enjoy the free apples and pretzels that they offer at Fremont Brewing. There are also many great eateries and places to order food from in the area, so there will be no going hungry here. The wide range of brews available will keep parents happily entertained too!

4. Rooftop Brewing Company

Rooftop Brewery Company can be found just off the South Ship Canal bike path. This is the perfect position for a fun family adventure. You can visit with kids of all ages, and even bring your pets too!

Rooftop Brew Company features plenty of entertainment for the kids. They can draw on the walls with chalk, help themselves to the free popcorn machine, play magnetic darts, and make use of the spacious tasting area. This is a great option for things to do in Seattle with kids.

There is always a food truck parked here with some delicious offerings for the whole family to enjoy. Rooftop Brew Co also takes their beers seriously, so make sure that you arrive thirsty.

8. San Juan Seltzery

This used to be Schooner Exact Brewing Co, but they recently merged with San Juan Seltzery. While there are plenty of hard seltzers available, Schooner still has its beer available here at their SODO location.

The place has a laid back atmosphere that all ages can enjoy. If you’re getting back from a hike off I-90, this is a great hike and brewery combination to add to your list.

9. Rhein Haus

Rhein Haus is one of my favorite kid-friendly breweries in Seattle located on Capitol Hill. This German-style beer hall offers the ideal setting for parents to bring their kids to enjoy some food and drinks. The brewery has 5 bocce ball courts that the kids will love playing on. There is also plenty of space to bring large families.

Rhein Haus boasts some of the best food for all ages to enjoy. There are bratwursts, giant pretzels, frites, and plenty more. Of course, the beer is delicious, and any adult will be happy to sit here enjoying a few lagers. There is a real Oktoberfest in Seattle feel to this Bavarian beer hall.

There is a huge range of beers to try here, and you can take some home to continue the fun. If you are based in the Central District or Greenwood, then visit one of Chuck’s Seattle brewpubs.

12. Resonate Brewery and Pizzeria

Any families looking for a place to visit in the east of Seattle will love this inviting brewpub. Resonate Brewery may be famous for its specialty beers and pizzas, but the environment offers so much more to those with kids.

There are all kinds of games, books, and activities available to keep the young ones busy. Their happy hour with kids in mind offers all children’s meals at half price on weekdays before 3 pm. If you are after the perfect setting to enjoy some food and drinks with your kids, then Resonate Brewery is one of the best choices in Seattle.

This central brewery in Seattle comes highly recommended for any craft beer lovers with little ones. The taproom is spacious and fun, with a lively family-friendly atmosphere throughout the day. Hale’s has live music, a relaxed environment, and is one of the longest-running craft breweries in the city.

Hale’s Ales menu is not only tasty for adults but is also suitable for younger palates as well. With a great setting, good food, and beers, this is the perfect spot for a kid-friendly day out.

14. Populuxe Brewing

Populuxe Brewing is a fairly small brewery, with a couple of excellent brews available. This place has an inviting patio where families can sit, enjoy a few drinks, and let their kids play freely. Children can make full use of the corn hole, and other games that the brewery provides.

Beer Tasting seattle

The Redhook Brewlab has been operating for many years and is one of the area’s most prominent independent brewers. Today the brewery can be found in the Capitol Hill neighborhood – offering a welcoming environment to people of all ages.

Redhook’s menu is always exciting, paying close attention to local Seattle suppliers and producers. The beers are also quite experimental, so it is a fun place to tantalize your taste buds. The setting is casual with long outdoor tables to relax around. They also have booths for those with toddlers who need room to move without running around the place.

17. Urban Family Brewing Co.

This is a small brewery in Magnolia with a lot to offer. The beer menu is always changing, as the brewery loves to try new things.

Kids can enjoy free pretzels, soda, and apple juice, while adults can sample a wide range of drinks on offer. If you don’t want to deal with the crowds of a larger brewery, this is a perfect place to take your family.

Ghostfish Brewing is fully dedicated to being a gluten-free brewery, priding themselves on beers of the highest quality. I’ve been going here since they first opened and am impressed with how well they’ve perfected their gluten-free beer over the years.

The brewery is family-friendly until 7 pm and also welcomes dogs if you have your pup with you. This is a great place for lunch or an earlier dinner with your kids.
