Hi there! My name is Marissa, and I’m a Seattle-based adventurer and outdoor enthusiast. I’ve always been quite athletic and active, so getting a degree in Exercise Science was a logical choice for me. I went on to gain certifications as a personal trainer and an assistant in physical therapy, but both jobs left me wanting a bit more out of life.

I needed a break after working in such physically demanding occupations and sitting at my desk for up to 10 hours a day. After I got the travel bug, I couldn’t stop. Traveling to new places, meeting new people, and challenging my language skills is one of my favorite things to do. Even though I’ve traveled to some incredible places all over the world (climbing in Patagonia and trying the native food in India rate highly among them), Seattle is my home base and the area I’m most excited to discover.

Since I began this website in 2015, I’ve been all around Washington, from the bustling city of Seattle to the remote wilderness of the state’s national parks, and everywhere in between. I also spend a lot of time in Canada, Oregon, and Idaho, and I’ll tell you everything about the best things to see and do there as well.

My favorite places to explore are the Pacific Northwest and National Parks, so make sure to check out those posts for helpful tips! I also love going on road trips around the area as well as hiking as much as possible.

I look forward to inspiring any future travels you may have, whether it’s a local hike or planning a weekend vacation!
